    Awful customer service

    Worst experience ever had nothing but trouble with the car since having it all they say is go to the warranty company car was stinking dirty with McDonald’s in the glovebox would advise not to go there

    The process was seamless. Robbie who oversaw the transfer of the vehicle was helpful and explained things clearly. The garage also did not use any of the old pressure sales tactics that some garages often employ. Would recommend to anyone looking to buy a no hassle vehicle in the future.

    From the UK but work in another country. I spoke to one of the sales team regarding the car on the Thursday and was happy with the info they provided, I also performed the usual checks HPI etc. We agreed they would have the car through the MOT and ready for me to collect on Saturday morning. I paid a deposit, booked my flights and ferry to collect as arranged. arrived on time as agreed after a 20 minute taxi from the airport. When I arrived at the garage I was greeted and told the car wasn`t ready due to some number plate issues and a chip on the alloy that needed repairing (fine) Around 2-3 hours later the car finally came back, wheel repaired, happy with the test drive. I agreed to buy and have a 2 year warranty put the car, not from the garage but a third party as they only offer a 3 month one, which isn`t great when you`re spending 22k+ on a car ! When we sat to sort out the payment I was asked to send the money into 2 different personal account`s which was suspect but was told this was for a `Sale and return` as they called it. This was thankfully flagged up by my bank and declined, also the current V5 didn`t match the account I was paying into. I then started questioning the issues after being before told the manager was driving the car daily yet it belonged to someone else, also the millage was nearly 4000 mile more than advertised, the other part other money was to be paid into one of the sales teams personal accounts for a tax free commission I`m guessing. Anyway there was a lot of conflicting information, lies which was passed off when questioned, they even offered to let me drive away in the car just paying the commission into their personal account and clear the balance later on, which was odd. At this point I had to leave as it was lunchtime, I hadn`t eaten, missed my return ferry due to the delays so had to rearrange my plans. One of the valet lads did kindly drop me to the train station which was appreciated, hence the 1 star. I`ve asked on a few occasions for my deposit back and have just been ignored.

    Firstly i would like to apologise that you have felt the need to write this review but it would be unfair to not address the facts so i would like to give the story from our side. As you mentioned you called and placed a deposit on the car on the Thursday and said that is was urgent and needed the car ready for the Friday (not the Saturday you stated) as you had to catch a flight and needed to get home. We advised the car is a sale or return on behalf of a friend of the Director (not the Director himself) and that we needed to do an MOT and service but would push it to the front of the queue and get the car ready as quick as we could. We dropped everything as a garage to get the car into the garage and ready for your arrival on the Friday. Unfortunately the garage required us to change the plates on the car as the ones on it did not meet the criteria for MOT so we had to get these made on the Friday morning as they don't have the facility to do so. The car was then put through an MOT early Friday morning and brought back to site where we noticed a scuff on the alloy that we wanted to get sorted for you (as you mentioned you are spending 22K on a car so we wanted it to be right). The car was then cleaned for you so you could take it for a drive (admittedly you had to wait a couple of hours but this had been less than 24 hours since you paid the deposit). After test driving you were happy with the car apart from the mileage which had gone up as the car was still in daily use. We had a conversation and agreed to give you a 2 year extended warranty the for price of a 1 year to compensate. Again, very happy at this point we proceeded to take the payment as you mentioned was a sum to the owner of the car and the rest to us. Also happy with this situation you proceeded to make the payment to which your bank stopped due to a large amount. The bank then requested the V5 for the car as they wanted to confirm the owner matched the payee. Unfortunately we had been given the old V5 for the car so until we could obtain the most recent one you decided to go to your parents for the night until we had it in hand. As you were pushed for time you agreed to go to your parents in Northampton to stay for the night and return the following day when the V5 was with us. Approximately 2 hours after you left site (after we kindly dropped you off at Derby train station some 30 minutes away) we received the current V5 and sent you the picture so you could show the bank. At this point we also said we could just take the payment on our card machine if it was easier. We called 3 times and messaged multiple times to which were ignored. We then relied a message the day after (when you had told us you were returning) to say that you wanted you deposit of £100 back because you had to pay for another flight and you were going to leave the car. At that point we offered a further £360 discount on the car for you inconvenience and were again ignored. I would like to say that at no point have we received any phone call to the garage to tell us that you were not proceeding or would like your deposit bucket it seems very easy for you to tell a slightly different tale of events on here. Hopefully people can read our excellent reviews and make their own mind up but after speaking to you personally on the day this review comes as somewhat of a surprise. Kind regards TCA Sales Team
